Saturday 15 November 2008, 5.30pm onwards, King's College, Cambridge
Memorial Evensong for Canon Pat Magee, followed by a reception and High Table
As many of you will already know, Pat Magee passed away in March of this year, and there is to be a memorial evensong in Chapel next month at 5.30pm on Saturday 15 November. Pat served the Choir and Chapel in many capacities during his life, first as a Chorister from 1924 to 1929, then as a Choral Scholar from 1934 to 1939 and finally as Chaplain from 1946 to 1952. The music for his service will include Vaughan Williams' Love bade me welcome, Howells' Collegium Regale setting of the evening canticles and Bainton's And I saw a new heaven. Following the service, the College and Pat’s godchildren will be jointly-hosting a reception in the Chetwynd Room, and it is also anticipated that many of those who knew Pat will elect to stay on for dinner afterwards at High Table, which will operate in the usual way.
If you would like to attend any part of the evening then please contact Simon Tottman by e-mail (membership@kccaonline.org) before Friday 31 October. This applies even if you only plan to attend the service, as there will be large numbers present in the chapel that day and we are co-ordinating some reserved seating. Those wishing to stay on for High Table after the reception must sign in with the College in the usual way, in addition to letting us know that you are coming. If you wish to dine at High Table but do not have your own dining-rights, then we will be able to pair you up with someone who does. Please contact Simon for more details. Guests are most welcome.

Saturday 14 March 2009, King's College, Cambridge
Foundation Concert: Mendelssohn Anniversary Celebration
The Foundation Concert is one of our most popular annual events, allowing former choir-members to join the current Chapel Choir in performing major choral works. This year's programme includes Mendelssohn's Hör mein Biten, Violin Concerto and Lobgesang, and features Magnus Johnson violin, Bibi Heal soprano, Lynette Alcantara mezzo-soprano and Andrew Staples tenor.
Both lunch and a formal post-concert dinner are provided free of charge to all those singing in the concert, but there are also many members who attend in a non-singing capacity. Full details of how to attend or take part will be sent out in January.

Wednesday 20 May 2009, 6pm-9pm, The Horniman at Hay's Galleria, London Bridge
KCCA Event: Informal London Drinks
The annual drinks evening for members, non-members and their guests has become a popular success since its inception three years ago. The 2009 gathering will again take place at The Horniman, a lovely riverside pub within Hay's Galleria. The venue is just 2 minutes walk from London Bridge (Tube/Rail) and the riverside terrace has stunning views of both HMS Belfast and the Tower of London. The event is free and the Association will cover the cost of the first few drinks and some warm nibbles.
There is no need to book your place;  the idea is simply that people can drop in after work and socialise. Click here for a map.

Saturday 6 June 2009, 12.30pm, King's College, Cambridge
KCCA Event: Summer Event & AGM
Having experimented with various formats for this day over past few years, we are returning to the more traditional setting of the Saltmarsh Suite, where a formal luncheon with a guest speaker will form the basis of the event, which culminates in evensong. More details will be circulated closer to the time.

September/October 2009, date to be confirmed, Gloucester Cathedral
KCCA Event
It has been a while since the Association convened outside of either Cambridge or London and we are very keen to test the popularity of hosting the occasional Regional Event. The College and several Kingsmen enjoy strong musical and personal links with Gloucester, and so we look forward to publishing more details about this event as soon as they are known.
